Code RED: 'General Threats' Made Toward Montgomery College Cancels Classes

Montgomery College was unexpectedly shut down on Friday afternoon after threats were made targeting the school.

A "Code Red" alert was issued on Oct. 11, to allow for an investigation into the threats that led to a closure of the campus effective as of 1:30 p.m. on Friday.

"At this time, any information regarding an active threat on school property has not been deemed credible," the school said.

The incident is now being investigated by local police and the Office of Public Safety, Health, and Emergency Management.

No details about the threat have been released by the school or police.

More information is expected to be released.
